There is never any predicting of what may or may not happen at a Safe At Home event. April 20th, truly proved to be a God ordained beautiful day. Once again He smiled on us and gave us 72 degree weather and blue skies. The game began sharply at 3:05 to a crowd of 6800+.
The Church community performed very well redeeming almost 4300 seats for the 4500 we had available. The team was very pleased with our promotion and has already invited us back. As the day went on, competition on the field remained intense. In fact, it remained so intense that we watched it for 13 innings before a victor could be declared. This resulted in a game that lasted just over four and a half hours. The end result was that it proved to be simply too much for many fans and when Safe At Home took to the field we were left with approximately five to six hundred fans remaining.
Once we were able to begin, the Safe At Home crew and its volunteers proceeded to set a new record setup time of just under 5 minutes. Never has this been done! Thank you to everyone who took to the field and helped us to make this happen. At the conclusion of Scott Dawson’s Gospel presentation, the Holy Spirit moved and we witnessed 110 decisions for Christ. That’s a whopping 22% of people left in the stands. This was huge! Added to this were 30 decisions that Scott had at a church earlier in the morning and that’s 140 decisions for the day!
God is alive and working and we have been so proud to be used as his tool of ministry in New Britain. None of this could have been possible without our friends in New Britain. The church community came together in a great way to support the event in attendance and with finances. We say to you the church body of New Britain, “Well done it has been a pleasure to partner with you!” We hope to be able to come back again soon. Your cards, letters, and emails have been very much appreciated. Please, keep them coming. We covet your prayers and will be praying for you.
