After months of planning and coordinating the Safe at Home in New Britain, the Lord brought forth a harvest of souls. Scott Dawson presented the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and 191 commitments were recorded. Of those decisions, 140 people made first-time decisions to accept Christ as their Savior.
We are excited to have been part of this harvest. Tim Schnelling serving as the emcee for the Rock Cats and Safe at Home, in addition to his affiliation with the Christian Radio station, said it felt so good to have been in ministry for so long and finally see some results. One of the pastors involved in SAH said the event served as a great BEGINNING.
As we celebrate the new lives in Christ, the Rock Cats rejoice that those souls stepped forth from the 7,182 in attendance – the largest Sunday crowd in stadium history. The day of the SAH event beat the former Sunday record by more than 2,000 and was just 400 shy of the all-time record.
These statistics reveal how SAH meets people where they are at - physically and spiritually. The circumstances in New Britain reveal how much the Lord’s hand is in this ministry. Even the weather attests to the sovereignty of God.
During the months leading up to the event, SDEA team members braved the snow and bitter cold weather of New Britain to prepare and organize for SAH. When April 22 dawned, it brought with it 80 degrees and sunshine – one of the first spring days in New Britain.
We want to thank the New Britain Rock Cats and community members for allowing us to bring SAH to New Britain. We also want to express our thanks for the tremendous support we received from the community.
SDEA will continue to pray for those who made decisions. We ask that you remember those individuals as they seek to find church bodies where they can grow in the Lord. Our prayer is also for the churches who will serve as spiritual guides for the individuals who did make commitments at SAH.
