Mandisa, from American Idol, and Northwest Florida’s Big Daddy Weave (both currently having # 1 nationally ranked songs according to the Billboard charts) joined Safe at Home with Scott Dawson to help set a new Pensacola Pelicans franchise attendance record on Sunday June 24.  The game attendance was 6,200 breaking the existing record by 2,000 individuals.

To accommodate the unprecedented crowds, the Pelican’s staff created hundreds of additional seats on the outfield warning track.  A ball hit into the warning track would be ruled a ground rule double.

Other unusual allowances were made by the team as fans were allowed, by the thousands, to sit on the outfield grass during the Safe at Home event.

Mandisa thrilled the crowd with music new and old and shared of her experience on the national stage set by American Idol.

90 individuals accepted Scott’s challenge to make a public commitment to Christ at the conclusion of his message.

After Scott’s message, the crowd celebrated to the music of Big Daddy Weave for almost an hour.

Safe at Home Pelican style proved a new way to succeed.
